National Assembly’s Land, Infrastructure, and Transport Committee Budget Plan for Saemangeum and Seoul-Yangpyeong Expressway

The Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee of the National Assembly held a plenary meeting on the 15th and the Democratic Party of Korea alone decided on next year’s budget plan, including an increase in the budget related to Saemangeum and a decrease in the budget related to the Seoul-Yangpyeong Expressway. The ruling party, the People Power Party, objected to this and did not participate.

The budget plan passed by the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee on this day was increased by regarding 1.23 trillion won and decreased by 43.4 billion won from the government’s plan, for a total increase of regarding 1.18 trillion won.

At the general meeting, the Democratic Party increased the budget related to Saemangeum, which was drastically reduced by the government. The budget for the construction of the Saemangeum-Jeonju Expressway was increased by 85.7 billion won, the budget for the Saemangeum New Port incoming railway was increased by 10 billion won, and the budget for the construction of Saemangeum New Airport was increased by 51.4 billion won. /yunhap news
