In dialogue with W Radio, Colombian Valentina Chaparro spoke regarding her good academic performance at the State Medical University of Grodno, Belarus, where she obtained the best score in the final exams of the first semester of medicine.
Chaparro, 18, graduated from Gimnasio Moderno San Francisco El Tintal in Bogotá and moved to the European country in March 2022 to start her professional career.
She says that at school she was not an outstanding student since she never worried regarding it, however “in an environment like Belarus where one does not have the language or the comforts, one is driven to be better or to be excellent.”
He comments that at the end of school he was not able to find a place in any university. Due to chance, when he met the consul of Belarus, he obtained help from the embassy to carry out the respective processes and eventually move to study there.
“Belarus has incredible security. The language seems striking to me, the city where I am is striking and living here is really very good,” she says.
Likewise, the student says that she did the first year of her degree in English and even though she arrived in the country without speaking Russian, she now studies in that language.
