The man was driving his pickup from the Zottaalm towards Alpbach when, according to the police, he left the road in a curve due to the wet road and poor visibility. The car rolled over several times before coming to a stop across the slope. The victim was able to get out of the car on his own and slipped down onto the road below him.
There he was discovered by a driver who happened to be passing by, who started the rescue chain. The 78-year-old was admitted to the Innsbruck clinic.
