2023-11-14 16:24:51

A building which is falling into ruin and which has lost all heritage interest, it is in this type of situation that the procedure can be requested. “In this case, agents from the Walloon Heritage Agency (AWAP) go to the site and draw up a heritage sheet, which will analyze the property by comparing the reasons for the classification at the time and the state of the building today.explains Etienne Sermon, director of promotion at AWAP. In the case, for example, of a building that burned down, should its classification be maintained?“.

After analysis, stakeholders will be consulted. It is within this framework that a public inquiry is organized, during which everyone can make their comments. On this basis, a final report will be drawn up, sent to the minister in charge of heritage who will have the final decision.
