The series Rigo, inspired by the life of the famous cyclist Rigoberto Urán, is one of the most watched on television since its premiere more than a month ago. Starring Juan Pablo Urrego, Ana María Estupiñán and a first-class cast, the story broadcast by RCN has been widely accepted by the public, however, followers asked to remove these characters.

One of the most enthusiastic regarding the television series is ‘Toro de Urrao’ himself, who has become even more known with the story of all the vicissitudes he faced before becoming one of the best cyclists in the country. Every day, the rider shares excerpts of the scenes and photos with some of the actors on his networks. He also took the opportunity to promote his tours and restaurants.

After it aired, the public was intrigued by some characters such as Evaristo Rendón, played by Julián Arango. Many wondered if this man, wealthy and envious, really existed and became Rigoberto’s obstacle. But the acting veteran himself mentioned that it was a fictitious role, a being that brought together all those people who were a stone in the athlete’s path.

Another of Rigo’s hardest moments, which is completely real, was the situation of the armed conflict. Although the scriptwriters clarified that a meeting between the athlete and the irregular groups never took place, the plot reflects the insecurity and anxiety that thousands of families were experiencing in rural municipalities at that time.

Coincidentally, the chapters where the retention of Girlesa and Lucho by these criminal organizations occurs coincided with the kidnapping and release of the father of soccer player Luis Díaz, reviving the audience’s feelings of rejection.

Users commented that the production is excellent, but asked not to give more presence to armed groups. “Good, but with the real guerrilla we don’t need more in novels,” wrote one of the Internet users.
