Delhaize announced on Monday the additional takeover of 21 supermarkets under its own management by independent entrepreneurs. This is already the fourth announcement of its kind, following those of August, September and October, which concerned 51 stores.
There are now 72 supermarkets out of the 128 that the company managed itself which have now started the transition to an operating model by an independent entrepreneur. Fifteen of them have already opened their doors with the new buyers at the helm.
In Wallonia, the stores affected by this new wave of franchising are those of Genval, Mouscron, Morlanwelz, Jambes, Enghien, Epinois, Hornu, Fragnée and Sart-Tilman.
In the capital, these are the branches of Charles V, Chazal, Mozart and Westland which now have a designated buyer.
Finally, in Flanders, the supermarkets in Halle, Leeuw-Saint-Pierre, Lokeren, Termonde, Schoten, Antwerp-Hopland, Bosuil and Wavre-Sainte-Catherine will become franchisees in 2024.
