Some of the most advanced cell phones on the market were put through a battery life test by the channel TechDroider from YouTube. In a video published on Friday (10), the enthusiast compared the autonomy of the Xiaomi 14 Pro with the iPhone 15 Pro Max, Galaxy S23 Ultra and others flagships launched in 2023.

The tests consisted of running different applications — including social networks, games and video recording — until the cell phones turned off. It is important to note that, in addition to battery size, other factors that influence the autonomy of a smartphone include screen resolution, processor and operating system optimization.

Then, the second cell phone to shut down is the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. With 9 hours and 58 minutes of autonomy, the model equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and a 5,000 mAh battery reached a peak of 43.9 ºC — presenting one of the highest temperatures in the comparison.

With slightly better results, the OnePlus 11 surpassed the 10 hour autonomy mark and had a peak of 41.2 ºC, heating up less than the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. Both cell phones have 5,000 mAh batteries and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 platform, in addition to Quad HD+ resolution with minimal variation in the number of pixels.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra achieved the same surprising autonomy of 10 hours and 5 minutes as the OnePlus 11, but its temperature reached an incredible 45.5 ºC. This device is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 “for Galaxy”, a special version produced especially for Samsung’s “Galaxy” family of devices with CPU overclocking.

In second place, the Xiaomi 14 Pro is the first cell phone in the world equipped with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 — along with its smaller “brother”, the Xiaomi 14. The Chinese top of the line showed that the renewed hardware is capable of maintaining the lights were on for a respectable 10 hours and 24 minutes, but reaching a worrying peak of 47ºC.

Finally, the iPhone 15 Pro Max displayed the longest battery life with 11 hours and 45 minutes of autonomy. Although its battery is smaller than its rivals with a capacity of just 4,441 mAh, Apple’s flagship has a lower resolution screen of 2,796 x 1,290 pixels. The peak temperature was 44.2 ºC.
