Andreas Marthaler (Martin Gruber) led the “Bergretter” team for 38 episodes until he fell to his death under dramatic circumstances in episode 6 of the sixth season (“Cut Out”). Attentive ZDF viewers in particular may have noticed: the former “Bergretter” leading actor has a prominent namesake. The mountain doctor portrayed by Hans Sigl in the series of the same name is also called Martin Gruber.

So far only the first episode of the new “Bergretter” season, which revolves around the missing father-in-law of a mountain guide, is available in advance, but ZDF already revealed details regarding the two follow-up episodes a few weeks ago. “Brotherly Love” is regarding, among other things, the tragic accident of Heidi Klum’s character Isabell Klett and “Out of Fear” is regarding a family man who suddenly reappears following many years.
