In light of the upcoming New Year, at the largest sale of the year that just ended, I decided to please my grandson with gifts, but Sberbank made every possible effort to spoil the mood, at its own whim, actually prohibiting me from managing my own money. The day before yesterday (November 10, 2023) at 18:10, my grandson, on my instructions, connected Sberbank Online to his phone, since I only use a push-button phone and cannot use this application on my own, and he is not a Sberbank client (as I now understand, he there are indeed good reasons for this). Immediately following registration, he tried, with my knowledge, to transfer 135 thousand rubles using the Sberbank Online application from my deposit to my Mir card from Sberbank in order to pay on the night of November 10-11 for an order in Sbermegamarket for a video card and processor for his computer with a return of 56,791 bonuses for the video card and regarding 21,000 points for the processor. But the transfer of funds was cancelled, the Sberbank Online application generated an error regarding blocking my personal account for suspicious actions and a message that within half an hour a Sberbank employee would call me from number 900, who would help me unblock my account. Indeed, within half an hour, Oksana called my home number, which I indicated as the main contact, and introduced herself as an employee of Sberbank. She had a conversation during which she asked me and my grandson questions to make sure that the transfer was made by my grandson with my guarantee, and not by scammers. She asked me in which department I received my passport, and asked my grandson the purpose of the transfer, the make and model of the phone from which he created the Sberbank Online account. She was satisfied with all the answers, she said that within 5 minutes her personal account would be unlocked, and that we should repeat the same transfer from the deposit to the card. Indeed, immediately following the end of the call, the Sberbank Online application account was unblocked, and the grandson was able to successfully repeat the transfer. Before this, the bank’s actions, from my point of view, were correct and appropriate, but then something completely incomprehensible began. At 2:01, the grandson from his phone, which Oksana marked as not arousing suspicion, through the SberPay payment system, tried to pay for the video card on Sbermegamarket, but the payment in the amount of 97,910 rubles did not go through, the Sberbank Online account was blocked once more, I once more received an SMS regarding that within half an hour a Sberbank employee will contact me and help me re-unlock my personal account. But no one ever called, and when I tried to call 900 on my own from my push-button phone, only a robot answered me, which announced that my account was blocked for a suspicious payment, announced the amount of the payment, and that an employee would call me. At 2:31 the order was automatically canceled due to the fact that it had not been paid for half an hour.

At 04:46 in the morning I received an SMS stating that in addition to my personal account in Sberbank Online, my account and my Mir card were blocked, and that I needed to go reissue it at a bank branch. By that time, all the video cards had already been disassembled; they might no longer be purchased at that price.

There I met even more incompetence, a man who introduced himself as the acting director of the branch tried to convince me that the woman who called my home number, who introduced herself as Oksana, was in fact a fraudster, and that Sberbank might not call my home phone, even if I indicated him as the main contact. But he was unable to explain how, in this case, the “scammer” was able to fulfill her promise and unlock my Sberbank Online personal account for the first time. He sent me to an employee to write an application for re-issuance of my card, it turned out that the card would be ready by the end of the week! When asked how I can now withdraw money from my blocked card, he said that it is possible to withdraw money through employees, but only 50,000 per day! Thank you so much for taking care of my safety. I have always believed that if you are the largest bank, then everything should work for you at least tolerably. I believed that you would help in case of unforeseen situations, I even took out deposit insurance from you. But it turned out that your algorithms do not work normally, because they blocked the account twice in a day, and considered suspicious payment for an order in a Sberbank store through the Sberbank payment system with delivery in my name and receipt at a Sberbank branch, made from the phone that the employee following the first block marked as non-suspicious. And later the card itself was completely blocked without any additional “suspicious” transactions. Neither the hotline works properly, and the second time they didn’t call from it at all, although they promised. Neither the employees at the department know how to listen to what they are told, and they also provide incorrect information regarding the impossibility of calling home numbers (or, if they are telling the truth, then your security is generally at zero level, since the “fraudster” Oksana was able to instantly unblock Personal Area).
