On Sunday around 2 p.m., a car rollover with injured people was reported to the Berchtesgaden police station in neighboring Bavaria. The accident happened at Oberkälberstein in Bischofswiesen. According to the police, an 89-year-old man from Schönau and his wife (85) drove up the steep road to Oberkälberstein in their car. He drove the car too far to the left and left the road. The pensioner then drove over a natural stone wall on the side of the road and lost his footing. The car slid backwards and tipped over the wall towards the steep slope below. The car overturned and came to a stop shortly before Kälbersteinstrasse below – fortunately on its wheels.
Passers-by saw the incident, rushed to help and made an emergency call. The first responders secured the car, which was at a very slanted angle, on the slope so that it might not tip over once more. The Bischofswiesen volunteer fire department helped secure the car and rescue it. The couple, who were moderately injured according to the Red Cross, were then able to receive emergency medical care. The two seniors were admitted to the Bad Reichenhall district clinic. Two seniors injured in car rollover Two seniors injured in car rollover
