Belgium Weather Update: Mild and Windy Week Ahead

2023-11-12 16:52:00

Hi Richard, we will still have to be patient even if everything will not be thrown away during this autumn week. Rain on Monday, more of a pattern of showers on Tuesday and a calm on Wednesday. Thursday will see the arrival of a new ocean disturbance with rain and wind before another small anticyclonic surge for the end of the week.

No cold on the horizon since we will remain in a fairly mild southwesterly flow with perhaps 12 to 14°C before a slight drop at the end of next week. However, no cold on the horizon and in my opinion rather mild conditions until the end of November or even the beginning of December. The cold air will remain confined to northern and eastern Europe and apart from a frost in the Ardennes if the sky is clear, nothing to report…

And regarding the rest of the country this Monday?

We will have to deal with this new disturbance firstly with the warm front giving continuous rain and a gloomy atmosphere. This precipitation will be more insistent in the south and east while a certain calm will occur from Hainaut to Flanders and the west of the capital at midday. Lots of wind with 65 to 75 km/h widespread from the southwest.

In the followingnoon, the cold front will rush in with a sky opening up from the coast but also good showers becoming rarer following 3-4 p.m. to the west of a ”Charleroi-Brussels” line. More showers in the south weakening at the end of the followingnoon while we will accumulate 8 to 20 L in general by the evening. The fairly strong to strong south-west wind will shift to the west in the followingnoon falling to 55-65 km/h but still 75-80 km/h at sea decreasing slightly in the evening (dry weather everywhere).
