Early Monday morning, a Scorpio new moon invites you to be completely and ferociously honest with yourself: Is this the life you want? Are you living up to your ideals? Are your relationships providing you with the care and support you need? Don’t make excuses for others or for yourself. If you’re brave enough to acknowledge the truth, even when it’s inconvenient or painful, then you can be brave enough to make a change.

You don’t like moving slowly, stillness even less. It’s when you’re in motion that you feel most alive, most like yourself. But everybody, even you, needs to stop once in a while to catch their breath and let their heart rate slow. In order to discern what needs to be done, sometimes you have to first sit quietly and observe. If you want to change the world, the best thing to do this week is rest up, if you can, and keep your eyes open for fresh opportunities.

When your problems are too much to bear or the news is all bad, it can be impossible to envision a better future. It’s easy to convince yourself that life will be this painful and sad forever, that you’d be foolish to hope for more. If you try to pull yourself out of this hole alone, you probably won’t get anywhere. Right now, you need other people. Conversations create space for you to imagine new worlds together; interactions remind you that people can be surprising and wonderful. Open your heart and you’ll be changed for the better.

Lately, you’ve hardly had a moment to think regarding what it is you’re doing, let alone what you’d like to be doing. You’re too busy. Problems arise and you deal with them, friends ask for help and you show up, your boss dumps work on your plate and you do it. Sometimes, there’s no choice but to take each new crisis as it comes. This week, though, try to carve out some time to think regarding the bigger picture. What are your goals, and how can you get there? When life slows down (and it will), how will you use your time? With intention?

Those around you have been underestimating you, you feel. It seems as if nobody understands how much you’re capable of. Even the people closest to you don’t recognize your courage, your talent, your potential. You know you have more to offer, but you sometimes worry you’re the only one who does. This week, it’s up to you to stop waiting around to be invited to prove it. You don’t need permission to make bold and surprising choices or to be true to yourself. If you want more out of life, you have the chance to make it happen.

Your thoughts have been bouncing all over the place: There are so many stories worth your time, subjects that capture your interest, and people telling you where you “should” focus. This week, be mindful of who and what gets your attention. It’s a powerful force, so be thoughtful regarding how you wield it and whom you give it to. You don’t owe everyone and everything consideration. Remember, you’re allowed to be discerning.

When going regarding your day, trying to manage the demands of a hectic life, you don’t have time to enter into a meaningful conversation with every acquaintance you bump into or leave yourself open to encounters with strangers. This week, though, it may be unavoidable. People seem drawn to you; they want to tell you their story, talk regarding the meaning of life, bond on a deeper level. As much as you can, try to embrace these unexpected moments of intimacy. You’re allowed your boundaries, of course, but no matter how busy you are, you won’t regret making time for human connection.

For a long time now, you’ve been considering a life change. You’ve been weighing your options, listing pros and cons, potential outcomes playing out in your head. Trouble is, there’s no way to foresee all possibilities. Every leap forward involves risk, but then staying put isn’t without its own dangers. This week, release yourself from the expectation that you’ll somehow make the “perfect” choice. If you do the best you can with the information you have now and then reassess and do it once more and once more, over time you’ll end up where you need to be.

Something’s wound tight inside you: a truth you’ve been hesitant to own, an emotion you’ve been unable to express, a desire you’ve been slow to name. It isn’t that you’re afraid to speak up — you’re not afraid of anything — only that it hasn’t seemed like the right moment or you haven’t figured out exactly how to say what you mean. This week, though, trust that the words will come and the people you most need to understand you will. Stop holding so much in. The more you open up, the lighter, freer, and more powerful you’ll feel.

Your emotions are overwhelming right now; the intensity of your grief, anger, and love threatens to intrude on every conversation you have, to distract you from your job and derail your plans. It’s easy to start resenting your heart, to wish you might switch off your feelings for a while. Better to let yourself be moved instead. If that interrupts the flow of your daily life, then so be it. If it creates some uncomfortable moments, well, there are worse things. Let your heart guide you.

You’ve been wishing for a stronger sense of community, for some reassurance that other people have your back and you’re not in fact alone in the world. This week, push back once morest loneliness by putting your energy into strengthening close ties. It can be frustrating that relationships take so much work, but you’ve never been afraid to roll up your sleeves. You have the power to build the bonds you want.

This week, you might use a reminder that you’re allowed to break the rules. You know it’s true, but it can be easy to forget, to bow to the pressure and fall in line. You don’t have to make the decisions your parents want you to, follow the same path as your friends, or hold the same opinions as your colleagues. Your life is yoursand it’s up to you to live it well — whatever that means to you. Sometimes, that requires putting your needs aside for the sake of the group. Right now, it means fighting to live your way.

You have more energy than you know what to do with right now, and if you aren’t careful, it’s going to spill over, possibly causing you to step on toes or even hurt people’s feelings without meaning to. Tamp down your intensity for too long and it’s sure to come out in unexpected ways. So this week, you need a single goal, one project you can pour your whole heart into. Given an opportunity to do something with all this passion and the sense that you’re using your time well, you’ll feel less frustrated and more fulfilled.
