Betclic ELITE – ASVEL’s new coach Gianmarco Pozzecco would not like to keep Frank Jackson and Boris Dallo, according to club partner Skweek.
Arriving at ASVEL at the end of October, new coach Gianmarco Pozzecco wants to change the hierarchy of the squad. Or even just the workforce.
Largest partner in the history of ASVEL (7 million euros for this 2023-2024 season alone), the media Skweek announces that the Italian coach wishes to part ways with full-backs/wingers Frank Jackson and Boris Dallo. Signed in the offseason to relaunch following losing his place in the NBA (214 games in the big league), Frank Jackson (1.90 m, 25 years old) has difficulty establishing himself in Europe (10.1 points at 48.7% shooting success, including 36.2% at 3-points, 1.2 rebounds and 1, 2 assists in less than 19 minutes) despite obvious scoring qualities. Despite its totally different but complementary profile to the latter (capable of doing everything but less comfortable on the outside shot and more generally on the mark), Boris Dallo (1.96 m, 29 years old) is used even less (only 8 appearances for 2.9 points at 45%, 2.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 14 minutes).
In an interview with L’Équipe before the match in Monaco, Gianmarco Pozzecco confided his difficulty in dealing with a group as large as the one put together by ASVEL this season. “Having 14 players is not my way of doing things. I like the players to be happy and for that, they need minutes”, he explained. To the point of cleaning up the 2023-2024 squad?
