Searches are underway in the Dendre in Aalst to find the body of the suspect, who probably committed a desperate act, the East Flanders prosecutor’s office confirmed on Sunday. They are the woman’s husband and the son’s father-in-law.
The bodies were found in a house on Borrekent Street. The public prosecutor’s office opened an investigation and went to the site with a doctor, the laboratory and a team from the federal judicial police.
The suspect, aged 51, is the woman’s husband and the father-in-law of her son. It is searched. The man probably committed an act of desperation. His car was found near the Dendre in Aalst and witnesses saw a person jump into the water on Saturday evening. Several search operations have been carried out, but so far no body has been found in the water.
