Fabio Quartararo’s Strong Performance in Sepang MotoGP Race – Results, Standings, and Analysis

2023-11-12 10:03:12

Fabio Quartararo secured a very solid result with 5th place in the Sepang MotoGP race. The 2021 French world champion fought his way past Jack Miller (Red Bull-KTM), later cleverly raced past Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46-Ducati) and was even able to make up time on World Championship candidate Jorge Martin at the finish.

Teammate Franco Morbidelli also confirmed with 7th place that the Yamaha M1 worked very well on the Sepang Circuit. «I was able to show a better start than on Saturday. But I had problems getting past Jack Miller. “It cost me a lot of time,” said Fabio, who started from 8th place.

“In the end, I’m very happy with my speed this weekend. I might perhaps have done a little better, but in the end 5th place was the best possible result for me. The four Ducatis at the front were strong throughout the weekend.”

«Unfortunately we can’t take advantage of the fresh rear tires, as our opponents can drive with much more power. We have to make up ground on the brakes. As soon as the opponents’ tire wears off, we are much closer. That’s also the reason why we can overtake.”

Incredible: “El Diablo” drove his last race lap in 2:01:0 minutes – exactly as fast as winner Enea Bastianini!

About the fight once morest Jack Miller, Fabio says: “I was a lot faster, but I mightn’t get past. If you can overtake, like in the two places where I managed to do it, it’s fun.” The wish of the man from the Cote d’Azur: “Hopefully Yamaha can find this power to start, then we would be there too Starting competitive.”

On the subject of tire pressure, the Yamaha star stated: “We played with the tire pressure – and kept the tire pressure very low at the beginning. If we had received a warning, we would have accepted this warning here.”
