Swimming is not just a great sport to really work out. A visit to the indoor swimming pool regularly sweetens gray days in Vienna. Our favorite city has a few real gems in this regard. And the best thing: Entrance fee is in all of them municipal indoor swimming pools only 7 euros. We have collected some really nice indoor pools in Vienna for you where you can dive in and relax.
Amalienbad
We’ll start right away with one of the audience’s favorites, because the Amalienbad is rightly one of the most beautiful indoor swimming pools in Vienna. Here you can swim under a glass roof amidst beautiful Art Nouveau architecture. At the beginning of the 90s it was one of the largest bathing halls in Europe. Today that is no longer true, but we prefer it cozy anyway. Speaking of cozy: There is also a Finnish, organic, steam and infrared sauna. Take the U1 to Reumannplatz, from there you can’t miss it.

Jörgerbad
You can also find a really cool Art Nouveau ambience while swimming in the Jörgerbad. The indoor swimming pool in the 17th district is the oldest indoor swimming pool in Vienna that is still in operation. It offers you a large sports pool, a children’s pool, various saunas and a shower bath. In summer you can dive into the small outdoor pool, and the little ones can let off steam in the water play garden. You can reach the indoor swimming pool with the U6 (Alserstraße station, then 10 minutes on foot) or with tram line 43 (Palffygasse station).

Hütteldorfer Bad
The former Penzing forest pool now bears the name Hütteldorfer Bad. It’s not huge, but it has all sorts of amenities that make it very exciting for a short visit. In addition to a sports pool, there are various adventure areas with a whirlpool, lazy river and waterfall. Kids will have a lot of fun because there is a large water slide, water cannons, a play stream and a non-swimmer pool. If you prefer something cozy, you can retreat to the sauna or relax in the relaxation area. From the Hütteldorf S-Bahn and U-Bahn station you can reach the swimming pool in 10 minutes.

Bathhouse coffin factory
Don’t panic, what sounds morbid at first quickly turns out to be a little oasis. Although not an indoor swimming pool in the true sense, it is a wonderful oasis of well-being for everyone who is looking for a short break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The Therme Wien is the perfect place for anyone who has already grown tired of the colder temperatures. Warm water, lots of relaxation and sliding fun are waiting for you here. You can reach the thermal baths with the U1 (Oberlaa). For three hours You pay entry with a box here 28 €.

Brigittenauer Bad
No matter what you enjoy most – whether it’s a sports pool, a baby pool or a family pool – everyone will be tempted to jump into the water in the Brigittenauer Bad. Special senior pools with massage jets are also offered. A bistro is available for a short snack break. The best way to get there is to take the U6 to Jägerstraße at the Leipzigerplatz exit. Early risers can swim laps during the week from 6:45 a.m. to 7:50 a.m.
