“No one is attacking me on my economic record. » This is what Macky Sall declared in mars 2016, in the midst of a referendum battle on constitutional reforms, including the passage of the mandate presidential from seven to five years.

Since then, the “yes” vote has won, two mandates have passed, et the outgoing president designated his Prime Minister, Amadou Ba, to be the candidate of the Benno Bokk Yakaar (BBY) coalition in the presidential election, the first round of which is foreseen on February 25, 2024, highlighting the progress made under the Plan Senegal emerging (PSE). If the country’s growth rate has accelerated to pass of 2.9% on average over the period 2005-2011 to 5.3% between 2012 and 2023, and if progress is evident in terms of infrastructure, the state of play on THE other aspects – employment, industrialization, debt, governance, poverty – is plus contrast.
