Former Indian superstar Robin Uthappa praised Indian star pacer Mohammad Shami. On his 38th birthday, Uthappa praised Shami in a video shared on YouTube.

Uthappa compared Shami to Virat Kohli in terms of consistency.

I feel that Mohammad Shami is the Virat Kohli of fast bowling. His bowling consistency and keeping his line, length and seam position is impressive. He understands that if he can bowl five or six balls correctly in that area, he can take three or four wickets,’ said Uthappa.

Uthappa also talked regarding two other superstars in the pace line. Uthappa said that Shami and Siraj were taking wickets by taking advantage of the pressure created by Bumrah in the first overs.

Shami took 16 wickets including two 5-wicket hauls from the four matches he played in this World Cup. Bowling at an economy of 4.30 and an average of seven, Shami has a strike rate of 9.75 in the World Cup.

After his excellent performance in this World Cup, Shami also held the record of taking the most wickets for India in World Cups.

Shami became India’s all-time leading wicket-taker, surpassing Zaheer Khan and Javagal Srinath’s wicket-taking record.

Shami took 47 wickets from 15 matches. Shami has three five-wicket hauls in the World Cup and four four-wicket hauls.
