The health care system in the war-torn Gaza Strip, facing repeated attacks as its supplies dwindle, has “reached the point of no return,” the Red Cross warned Friday.

The International Committee of the Red Cross said in a statement: “Overstretched, under-supplied and increasingly insecure, Gaza’s healthcare system has reached a tipping point, putting the lives of thousands of wounded, sick and displaced people at risk.”

The areas surrounding a number of hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip were bombed on the night of Thursday and Friday, according to the Hamas Ministry of Health, including the Al-Shifa Complex, which is the largest in the Gaza Strip and where 60,000 people took refuge, the Rantisi Hospital and the Indonesian Hospital.

An Israeli military spokesman confirmed on Thursday evening that major operations had been carried out in an area “very close to Al-Shifa Hospital.”

Israel previously accused Hamas of building networks of tunnels under hospitals and using sites near them to launch missiles, something the movement strongly denied.

The director of Al-Shifa Medical Complex in the Gaza Strip, Muhammad Abu Salima, said that there are expectations that the hospital will be “bombed at any moment,” stressing that the medical teams “will not leave,” at a time when tanks and Israeli forces are present less than one kilometer from the hospital. , according to a free correspondent.

Abu Salima said on Friday: “We expect the hospital and its occupants to be bombed at any moment. The medical teams will not leave the hospital and we will not abandon the patients inside it.”

Al-Hurra’s correspondent in Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip stated that Israeli tanks “are present in the vicinity of the Rantissi, Al-Nasr and Al-Ayoun hospitals, following they were bombed over the past hours, amid appeals to international institutions to intervene to protect the sick, children and displaced people.”

The Palestinian Ministry of Health said, through its Facebook account, that Israeli tanks “are in the vicinity of Al-Rantisi, Al-Nasr and Al-Oyoun hospitals in the Gaza Strip following being bombed over the past hours.”

Al-Hurra’s correspondent indicated that the Indonesian Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip was bombed and destroyed, resulting in injuries to the medical staff and the displaced, noting that Al-Awda Hospital near the “Indonesian” hospital was subjected to strong bombing and all ambulances were burned.
