The Mediouna solar power plant, with a capacity of 828 kWp, is the first in a series of four rooftop installations planned for Zalar Holding, totaling 2.5 MWp and representing an investment of approximately 2 million dollars (approximately 20 .5 million dirhams). These installations, which are almost 90% complete, are located in Fez (El Alf), Nouasseur (Banchereau) and Had Soualem (Dindy), and are expected to produce 3.76 GWh of clean energy annually. This energy will be directly used by Zalar Holding subsidiaries, particularly in the poultry sector, thus helping to reduce the company’s CO2 emissions by 2,300 tonnes per year.

Beyond its positive environmental impact, this project also supports the local economy by preserving more than 100 jobs. It is part of Morocco’s broader efforts to decarbonize its economy and achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement. This 2.5 MW solar power plant, operated under a 16-year contract, demonstrates Moroccan industrial potential in the transition to a greener and sustainable economy.

The inauguration of the Mediouna solar power plant was honored by the presence of His Excellency, Sjur Larsen, Ambassador of Norway to Morocco, emphasizing the importance of this international collaboration in the promotion of renewable energies. This project aligns perfectly with Morocco’s objectives for 2030, as set out in the Paris Agreement. Empower New Energy and Jet Energy aspire to contribute significantly to these goals, supporting the country’s energy transition and driving the adoption of clean and sustainable energy sources.
