The champions of all continents of the world will qualify for this tournament, in addition to the host country team and the holder of the title of the previous edition of the same tournament, while 3 teams chosen by the International Handball Federation will be nominated, in addition to the Arab champion, who will participate for the second time in the history of the tournament in an official capacity, as it has become The Arab Championship qualifies for this tournament.

The tournament is 26 years old, as it was launched in 1997 AD, when Australia hosted it with the participation of 8 clubs from all continents of the world, and the title was won by the Spanish team Cantabria Santander, as the International Federation officially approved holding the tournament every 5 years, as Doha organized the tournament in 2002 AD, Only 5 clubs participated in it, and the Qatari Al-Sadd Club achieved first place in it, before the tournament was moved to the Egyptian capital, Cairo, in June 2007, and the Spanish Real Ciudad then won the title.

After the conclusion of the tournament in the Arab Republic of Egypt, the International Handball Federation decided to hold the tournament every year, provided that the organization file is voted on by the members of the International Federation’s General Assembly, and the tournament rests on the file of the country that wins the vote for 4 consecutive years, and this is what brought the tournament back. Back to Qatar, which hosted 9 consecutive editions from 2010 AD until 2018 AD, and held the title in those tournaments in a row: Real Ciudad of Spain, Kiel of Germany, Atletico Madrid of Spain (formerly Real Ciudad), Barcelona of Spain (two editions in a row), Fuchs Berlin of Germany.
