The Grammy Awards, which reward musical artists, have just published the list of competing artists. Singer SZA leads the nominations.
The Grammy Awards announce the color of their 67th edition. Leading this year, singer SZA received nine nominations. Among the multi-nominated artists, we also find the essential Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Boygenius, Miley Cyrus, Jon Batiste, Victoria Monét and Billie Eilish. A ranking dominated this year by female artists.
SZA is notably ahead of Phoebe Bridgers (7 categories) and her rock supergroup boygenius (6), Billie Eilish (6), Olivia Rodrigo (6) and Taylor Swift (6), and songs from the film Barbie will also be represented in force, during the ceremony on February 4, 2024 in Los Angeles.
Barbie in several categories
Producer Jack Antonoff also gets six nominations for his work with Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey.
Taylor Swift, who is currently breaking all records, might make history a little more if she wins the album of the year award with “Midnights”, because that would make her the artist who won the more times this category, the most prestigious. She would surpass Frank Sinatra, Paul Simon, and Stevie Wonder.
The other phenomenon to watch during the 66th Grammy Awards ceremony, on February 4 in Los Angeles, will be the cinema blockbuster Barbie, whose songs from the soundtrack, performed in particular by Billie Eilish and Dua Lipa, occupy in force several categories.
In 2023, the ceremony crowned Beyoncé, who became the most awarded artist with a total of 32 awards throughout her career, but the supreme prize for album of the year had escaped her in favor of British popstar Harry Styles .
