Following the violent clashes between the Baye Faal and the inhabitants of the village of Thiayefally, mainly Fulani shepherds, Serigne Mountakha Mbacké broke the silence that surrounded him.
The Patriarch of Darou Miname advised the Baye Faal to remain attentive to his recommendations concerning the death of Moustapha Niang. According to Serigne Aliou Fall, son of Serigne Ndam Saliou, the khalif general of the Mourides took charge of this matter.

“Serigne Mountakha Mbacké suggested to the Caliph General of Baye Faal to let him manage this matter. The patriarch also recommended that we recite the Koran in memory of the deceased Moustapha Niang,” reports seneweb, quoting the head of communications for operations for respect for the sacredness of Touba.
Thus, the Holy Quran (Kamil) was recited three times, followed by prayers dedicated to Moustapha Niang, who was shot and killed. Yesterday, Moustapha Niang was buried at the Bakhiya cemetery, accompanied to his final resting place by senior religious leaders. Despite the loss of one of their own, the Baye Faal continue their mission within the perimeter of the Touba land title.
