In an official request that is published in the main print and digital media in Israel, Alberto Fernández “demands the immediate and unconditional freedom of the people kidnapped by the Hamas Group, especially our compatriots.”

The presidential text does not describe Hamas as a terrorist organization, does not mention the attack it carried out on October 7 with its countless Jews murdered, raped and kidnapped, and assures that it coordinates efforts with “other countries in the region” to achieve the freedom of the kidnapped in Gaza.

The request was published today in the newspapers Israel Hayom, Yediot Ahronot, Jerusalem Post and Haaretz. The texts are in English and Hebrew, and it is very possible that the request will be reproduced in other international media.

The office of the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, assures that Hamas is holding 21 Argentinians captive along with hundreds of other civilians who belong to 27 different countries. The terrorist group refuses to reveal the identity of the kidnapped hostages and the international community is already known to use the captives as a human shield to obtain an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

During a meeting between Alberto Fernández and Santiago Cafiero, the text of the request that demands the freedom of civilians held captive by Hamas was finalized.

The text of the request was written by Alberto Fernández, and the details were finalized during a meeting he shared with Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero in Olivos. The president drafted a request that does not classify Hamas as a terrorist organization and does not mention the objective cause that unleashed the tragedy: the October 7 attack committed in Israel.

“As president of Argentina, I am dedicated to the task of achieving his prompt release. With the conviction that these efforts are more effective when done together, I am in coordination with other countries in the region with whom we agree on the need for the immediate release of the hostages and to end the terrible consequences of the conflict on women. , children and Palestinian and Israeli civilians,” says the request signed by Alberto Fernández.

Hamas is a terrorist organization that stormed into Israel to murder, rape, mutilate and kidnap hundreds of defenseless Jews. Both facts are proven. However, the head of state in his request does not mention any of them.

Alberto Fernández believes that his omission might facilitate the freedom of the hostages, “especially our compatriots.” That personal calculation does not weigh on the political logic of Hamas. For the terrorist organization, hostages are a tradable commodity that will be offered to the highest bidder regardless of their nationality, sex or age.

In addition to demanding the release of the hostages, the president in his request proposed “a humanitarian truce that allows the arrival of aid that my country, like so many others, is sending to those affected by the conflict.”

In this section of the official text there is an error in the information. The humanitarian truce is demanded by Hamas to regroup its forces and allow its wounded to escape to Egypt through the Farah Pass. Aid – water, food and medicine – is already entering the Strip, despite the constant thefts committed by the terrorist organization to assist its cells operating in northern Gaza.

“I will do everything in my power, not only so that they can soon be in their homes with their families, but so that a peaceful and lasting solution is reached,” promises Alberto Fernández.

And he concludes: “Argentina, united, demands the immediate and unconditional freedom of the people kidnapped by the Hamas Group, especially our compatriots.”

The efforts that Alberto Fernández heads together with Cafiero are at a stalemate. The president and his chancellor depend on the negotiations led by the United States together with Qatar, which protects Hamas leaders in its own territory. The terrorist organization demands a ceasefire to release certain hostages, a diplomatic possibility that – for now – Israel rules out.
