In recent years, the “magnetic power” of China’s medical device market has continued to increase. The CIIE will set up a special medical innovation incubation area in 2021. This year, the special area attracted 300 projects from 39 countries to participate in the exhibition, creating new opportunities for innovation and development cooperation among medical device companies. At the forum, multinational medical device companies and Chinese innovative companies gathered together to share cutting-edge industry results and discuss future development directions, and promote the implementation of high-quality medical technology achievements in China.
At the event, Hunan Xiangjiang New District (Changsha High-tech Zone) gave relevant policy interpretations and industry promotions, and Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, as a representative of medical institutions, shared the theme of establishing a national medical center.
In the past five years, Hunan’s medical device industry has achieved considerable development. There are 1,283 medical device manufacturers; the output value of the medical device industry is regarding 55 billion yuan, an increase of nearly 5 times; a large number of star companies have emerged, such as Sannuo Biological, Shengxiang Biological, and Chutian Technology, in the fields of in vitro diagnosis, artificial intelligence, and rehabilitation physiotherapy. The medical device industry cluster has taken shape. Hunan has become a fertile ground for domestic and foreign investment in the medical device industry.
