Kuwait International Airport Sees Impressive Increase in Passenger and Air Traffic Numbers

Kuwait International Airport has seen an 11 percent increase in passenger numbers and a 27 percent increase in air traffic, while air cargo traffic has increased by 10 percent, Imad Al Jalawi, acting director general of the department, told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA). Compared to the same month last year, the number of passengers arriving in October this year stood at 447,013, while the movement of departing passengers stood at 566,492 passengers, while the total number of transit passengers stood at 186,359.

A 38 percent increase over October last year
The total number of flights operated to and from Kuwait International Airport during the month of October was 11,169. It was 8,807 during the same period last year.
The General Administration of Civil Aviation reported today, Wednesday, that the total number of passengers to and from Kuwait International Airport last October was 1,013,505.

As for air cargo movement, Al-Jalavi said the total cargo movement in October was regarding 19.4 million kilograms, with incoming cargo movement regarding 15.2 million kilograms and outgoing cargo movement regarding 4.1 million kilograms. He said Dubai, Cairo, Jeddah, Istanbul, Sabiha and Doha were the most popular destinations during the same period.
