Samsung has aimed to popularize foldable cell phones since the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip in 2020. However, there is a difficult barrier to break to reach consumers: the price of the devices.
Even though cell phones can be purchased for much lower prices a few months following launch, the truth is that a foldable device remains out of reach for many users. However, the South Korean company may have an idea to continue its expansion in this segment.

In an article released by TrendForce that explores the possibility of foldables being the “salvation” for the decline in the global cell phone market, the research agency reinforces the idea that Samsung would be developing a third line of foldables that would have a lower price.
The text states that the South Korean company will launch an intermediate foldable device next year, according to recent activities in its supply chain. The intention is for this new Galaxy to break the price barrier and make devices in this segment more accessible to consumers.
The information suggests that Samsung’s third foldable cell phone would be cheaper than the Galaxy Z Flip and not a model that would be between it and the Fold. So far, there is no information regarding its specifications and price range.
However, a previous rumor suggested it would arrive as part of the Fan Edition (FE) line. If Samsung is really working on this intermediate foldable for 2024, new information should emerge in the coming weeks.
