Investing.com – US stocks were higher following the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , , and .

At the end of trading in New York, it recorded an increase of 0.17%, and within a month it reached its highest record level, while it strengthened its position at 0.28% and rose by regarding 0.90%.

Among the leading stocks today was Intel Group (NASDAQ:), whose value rose 2.16%, or 0.82 points, and its price reached 38.77 at the close. On the other hand, Salesforce Inc (NYSE:) shares continued to rise by 2.13%, or 4.42 points, and closed at 211.84, while Nike Inc (NYSE:) shares increased by 1.97%, or 2.11 points, to 109.36 at the end of the session.

As for the weakest performance at the end of today’s trading, Chevron Corp (NYSE:) shares closed down 1.76%, or 2.59 points, and traded at 144.41 at the close. Dow Inc (NYSE:) shares declined by 1.64%, or 0.81 points, at a price of 48.53, while Caterpillar Inc (NYSE:) shares closed down, at 1.41%, or 3.36 points, at 234.92.

On the other hand, the best performance in the Standard & Poor’s 500 index was recorded by Gen Digital Inc (NASDAQ:), which rose by 8.48% at a price of 18.93. Expedia Company (NASDAQ:) also continued its rise at 5.79% and closed at levels 118.05, and Match Group Inc (NASDAQ:) stock rose by 5.41% and ended its trading at 29.99.

Among the weakest performing stocks today, we mention Air Products & Chemicals Inc. (NYSE:), which fell by 12.65% and closed its session at 254.46, Emerson Electric Co. (NYSE:), which lost 7.41% to 84.94, and Schlumberger Limited. (NYSE:), which weakened by 5.58% and closed at 53.33 today’s session on the stock exchange.

On the other hand, the best performance in the Nasdaq index was recorded by Cardio Diagnostics Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:), which rose by 102.94% at a price of 1.38. Senti Biosciences Inc (NASDAQ:) also continued its rise at 78.08% and closed at levels 0.52, and Jaguar Global Growth Corporation I (NASDAQ:) stock rose by 69.64% and ended its trading at 9.50.

Among the weakest performing stocks today, we mention Ventyx Biosciences Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell by 80.62% and closed its session at 2.73, Worldwide Webb Acquisition Corp (NASDAQ:), which lost 63.90% at 2.65, and Alto. Ingredients Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell by 60.73% to close at 1.93 in today’s session on the stock exchange.

The number of stocks that declined more than the number of stocks that closed higher in trading on the New York Stock Exchange, with 1691 compared to 1216, while 68 remained unchanged. As for the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 1818 of the stocks declined, 1640 strengthened their position, while 141 of the stocks maintained their value.

Air Products & Chemicals Inc. (NYSE:) stock fell to a record low in 52 weeks, falling 12.65%, or 36.84 points, to a price of 254.46. Ventyx Biosciences Inc (NASDAQ:) stock fell to an all-time record low, falling 80.62%, or 11.36 points, to a price of 2.73. Worldwide Webb Acquisition Corp (NASDAQ:) stock fell to an all-time record low, falling 63.90%, or 4.69 points, to a price of 2.65.

Gold futures for December delivery fell 0.67%, or 13.25, to close at $1,975.35 per ounce. As for trading in other commodities, WTI crude oil futures contracts for December delivery fell by 4.15%, or 3.35, and reached a price of $77.47 per barrel, while the January contract for Brent oil contracts recorded a decline of 4.00%, or 3.41 points, and closed at $81.77 per barrel.

The EUR/USD pair maintained stability at 0.14% and traded at 1.07 levels, while the USD/JPY pair continued to rise by 0.21% and reached 150.38 levels.

Dollar index contracts traded up by 0.30% at 105.36.
