The La Strada cinema is hosting an exhibition of 40 photos by Gérald Bloncourt until November 22.
Before the screening of the documentary “Gérald Bloncourt, the maverick of the image”, at La Strada, the photographic exhibition dedicated to this photographer of the common people, the workers, the deprived, the displaced was inaugurated.
This is a new exhibition which partly repeats the one programmed at the Aspibd museum this summer. “Installed differently, we do not at all have the impression of seeing certain images once more. Another perspective is offered to us. We are very happy to have been able to serve as an intermediary for this event. I would like to thank Marine Petit in passing. the instigator of these events”, introduced Jean-Pierre Vaur, president of the Aspibd.
“Gérald Bloncourt’s photographs, steeped in humanism, fit perfectly into the “De la terre à mine” festival which is being held at La Strada until the beginning of December,” said Arnaud Segond, director of the Decazeville cinema.
Then, Silvia Voser and Margot de Marguerite, directors of the documentary film, recounted the journey of Gérald Bloncourt, concluding with this quote from the great photographer: “I am above all a photographer who is attached to men and women with their joys and their sorrows. Photography does not move, it is what moves within us. Photography requires not only looking but seeing and feeling, like poetry.”
The photo exhibition lasts until November 22.
