WITH MACOS SONOMA, APPLE HAS ADDED A FUNCTION THAT CAN ANNOY: IF YOU USE THE CAPS LOCK KEY, A SMALL ICON WILL FOLLOW YOUR CURSOR. And if you use this key often (for example to type numbers on a keyboard without a numeric keypad), this icon may annoy you. macOS does not offer an option in the menus to remove this new feature, but it is always possible to revert to the previous behavior from the command line.

The small logo follows your cursor.

In the Terminalyou just need to type this line (found on Stack Overlow).

sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/FeatureFlags/Domain/UIKit.plist redesigned_text_cursor -dict-add Enabled -bool NO

It requires a restart to take effect and it is possible to return to the behavior introduced with macOS Sonoma by typing the same line and replacing the NO at the end of the line with a YES.
