Die AUSTRIAN COMPOSERS ASSOCIATION Together with MUSIK DER JUGEND, invites young people aged 10 to 18 to the nationwide composition competition “Jugend komponiert”.
The condition for participation in the competition is the submission of self-created compositions. One work should be composed and submitted for a prescribed instrumentation (concert piece) and another for any instrumentation (self-selected piece).
The cast of the concert piece 2024: 2 guitars
The compositions must be submitted in the form of a score (as a PDF). If an audio sample exists, it can also be provided in digital form (as mp3).
A jury will select the most interesting concert pieces from the submissions received in time. The finalists then have the opportunity to revise and optimize their composition with professional support in a workshop. These works will then be performed by professional interpreters in a public final concert.
The final and the determination of the prize winners are expected to take place in March 2024.
The winners receive cash prizes totaling 3,000 euros, donated by Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (subject to appropriate funding commitment).
There are two age groups for submitting and assessing works:
Age group 1: 10 14 years
Age group 2: 15 – 18 years
