2023-11-06 20:47:01

Gaza – 18 humanitarian agencies, including the United Nations, called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza in a joint statement. According to the statement, epidemics are spreading in the refugee camps due to lack of clean water and unsanitary environment, and 88 staff of various UN agencies have been killed.

Meanwhile, the Rafah border was reopened, paving the way to Egypt. So far 192 health workers have been killed in Gaza. 37 ambulances were vandalized. 16 hospitals stopped functioning due to power outage and other essential facilities. Gaza’s only mental health center was also destroyed in the attack. A floor of the hospital for the treatment of children suffering from cancer collapsed. The collapse of kitchens and bakeries exacerbated the food shortage.

The US has announced that it has deployed one more nuclear submarine in the region. The US Department of Defense has revealed that a nuclear-capable submarine is near the Suez Canal in Egypt. It is believed that this threat is to prevent interference, including Iran. US has already deployed 2 aircraft carriers.

Rage Against Israel; Diplomatic relations falter

More countries may cut diplomatic ties with Israel, as Bolivia has done. South Africa has recalled all its diplomatic representatives in Israel and clarified that it can agree with Israel. Turkey, Jordan, Honduras, Colombia, Chile and Bahrain also recalled their representatives.

Protests also intensified when Israeli minister Amikai Eliyahu suggested that nuclear weapons should be used on Gaza. The UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan and Yemen condemned the statement.

Repentant Obama

Former US President Barack Obama said that no one’s hands were clean during the Israel-Hamas war. He regretted that more efforts should have been made during his administration for a sustainable peace process in the Middle East.
