The first smartphone using MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chip is expected to be launched by the end of 2023.
The new machine launch conference was hosted by MediaTek General Manager Chen Guanzhou. He said that with the advent of the era of comprehensive intelligence, MediaTek has relied on its deep foundation and rich experience in the field of edge computing to develop products in smart terminal devices, smart cars, smart homes, etc. Diversified development in fields and achieved outstanding results. The company is committed to using its leading edge AI computing and hybrid AI computing technologies to build a new, full-scenario smart experience for users and promote the popularization of innovative generative AI applications.
Xu Jingquan, general manager of MediaTek’s Wireless Communications Division, also pointed out that the Dimensity 9300 is MediaTek’s most powerful flagship mobile chip to date, and its groundbreaking all-large-core architecture design brings amazing computing power breakthroughs to flagship smartphones. The unique full-core CPU, combined with the new generation of APU, GPU, ISP, etc., can not only significantly improve the performance and energy efficiency of terminal devices, but also bring excellent terminal-generated AI experience to consumers.
The full large-core CPU architecture of Dimensity 9300 includes 4 Cortex-X4 ultra-large cores and 4 Cortex-A720 large cores. MediaTek emphasized that the peak performance is improved by 40% and the power consumption is saved by 33% compared with the previous generation product. At the same time, the Dimensity 9300 integrates the seventh-generation AI processor APU 790, which is designed for generative AI. The performance of integer operations and floating-point operations is twice that of the previous generation, and the power consumption is reduced by 45%. This chip also uses the new generation flagship 12-core GPU Immortalis-G720. Compared with the previous generation, the peak performance is increased by 46% and the power consumption is saved by 40% under the same performance.
