Volvo Cars recently launched a new application in Brazil, available for operating systems Android e iOSwhich promises to make it easier for owners of electric vehicles across the country to find and use their chargers.
Called Volvo Car Electrical Stations, the app shows the real-time status of the charging points installed by the automaker in Brazil. The application is 100% free, as is the use of the automaker’s low, medium and high speed electric chargers.
According to Volvo, owners of any electric car, regardless of brand, can download the new application and use it on their chargers. However, for models from other manufacturers, you need to follow some steps to unlock the use of the device.
“We decided to maintain the use of chargers for users of other brands as a way of democratizing access to electric vehicles and spreading this culture,” said Volvo’s electrification strategy manager, Mirella Cambrea, to the Canaltech website.
After downloading the Volvo Car Eletropostos (links below) and registering, simply scan a QR Code located on the manufacturer’s charger to unlock it and thus allow the electric vehicle to recharge.
Unlocking can also be done manually. To do this, the user simply needs to write down the space code and release the charge even away from the vehicle. It is possible to check the battery level in real time through the app following the car has been plugged in and refueling has started.
It is also possible to monitor in real time which charging points are being used and which are free. Reservations can be made, but must be made 20 minutes before use begins. Overall, the interface is very easy to use and simple.
