“Let’s talk about the euro!” and OÖN money day in the heart of Linz

Ten interest rate increases in a row, stubborn inflation and a common currency for 20 different countries: the euro moves people and it is perceived differently. The Austrian population has been paying with the euro for more than 20 years.

The Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OeNB) would like to talk to you regarding this and many other topics relating to the euro, interest rates, the future of cash and the history of our currency at the National Bank Forum. The event “Talk regarding the Euro!” will take place this Wednesday, November 8th, in the OÖN Forum in the Promenade Galleries in Linz. OeNB Governor Robert Holzmann will be present and discuss with the audience.

It starts at 5 p.m. (doors open at 4:30 p.m.). The event will last around one and a half hours. Afterwards, the Oesterreichische Nationalbank invites you to bread rolls and drinks.

The economist Robert Holzmann was born in Styria, worked at the University of Vienna as an assistant to the later Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen, held various positions at the World Bank in Washington and has been at the helm of the OeNB as governor since September 2019.

Euros, interest rates and the topic of finance are also the focus of the annual OÖN Money Day. This year it will take place on Friday, November 24th, in the OÖN Forum in the Promenade Galleries in Linz. The consultation tables will be occupied from 11:30 a.m. From 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., experts from business, the banking sector and science will provide assessments and tips in several discussion rounds and interviews.
