While he has just completed his visit to all the municipalities of Gard, Senator Laurent Burgoa met the intercommunal authorities of the department and on Monday October 30 the last, that of the Pays d’Uzès. The senator’s objective remains the same as with town halls: to discuss subjects relating to intermunicipalities, their skills and the themes on which elected officials wish the senator to intervene at local or national level. On the agenda for this meeting with the elected representatives of the CCPU, the articulation of the various skills of the community of municipalities with those of the 34 municipalities such as water and sanitation. Fabrice Verdier presented the numerous community projects including the future aquatic center, the creation of bus lines and the soon construction of cycle lanes which will allow middle school students to come by bike to Uzès or even the economic zone of Sablas, to which the senator provided his full support.
The elected officials of Uzège discussed medical desertification and the actions taken to encourage the installation of new doctors, the obligations of clearing to preventively fight once morest fires as well as waste management and the objective of reducing waste . They then reminded the senator from Gard how the Resilience law and the Zero net artificialization objective made the construction of new housing difficult, if not impossible, in villages. They, in turn, gave examples of the multiple administrative formalities and restrictions imposed by the State which slowed down urban planning projects. Laurent Burgoa, for his part, recalled his interventions locally or in the hemicycle intended to defend local authorities and the Gard.
After an exchange with the office at the headquarters of the community of communes, President Fabrice Verdier made a point of showing the senator around L’Ombrière before meeting many mayors for a moment of conviviality.
