Well, one might hardly speak of favorable conditions for Absdorf before the last game once morest the designated autumn champion Lilienfeld. Igor Menezes had to travel home to Brazil because his visa had already expired. The convalescent Olli Weidlinger was also on the field, although he was clearly not yet fully fit. The playing system in Absdorf was of course designed to be defensive, “wanting to play along” with such a technically strong team like the Traisentalers would have been sporting suicide. So they built two flexible defensive chains of four, always aimed at creating pinpricks.
But the guests had the first chance. Stefan Stippl fended off the ball with a magnificent reflex, keeping his team in the game (7th). Absdorf’s first approach to the Lilienfelder goal was made by Fabian Märkt, but his shot went towards Schmida. The Absdorfers were visibly pleased by the opponents’ rather cautious style of play. Apart from field superiority, the Lilienfelder hardly created any chances until the 35th minute. But Stippl had to intervene once more. Shortly later, another structured attack by the guests, but Mustapha Kanteh failed with a shot into the side netting (40th). Before that, the home team had narrowly failed with a long-range shot from around 50 meters; the Lilienfelder goalkeeper had rushed too far out of the goal. Olli Weidlinger (41′) almost succeeded in this feat, but here too the equipment narrowly missed.
Little changed in the style of play. Absdorf fought until he dropped
The first fifteen minutes of the second half were a skirmish; the tactical guidelines prevented the game from progressing dynamically, to put it bluntly. Afterwards, the guests still wanted to take the three points home. Absdorf almost didn’t come up with any more attacks to relieve the pressure, so the favorite’s pressure became greater and greater. In one action, Absdorf had the luck of the brave – a goal from Jovan Murisan was disallowed because of offside, a very close decision (70th). Absdorf built on this even more, won many duels and even started one or two actions through Maxi Lembacher. But Lembacher missed the last good opportunity. His shot went over the goal. The home team held on to the score. A thoroughly successful autumn season ended with a pleasing win in points.
Christian Schragner, Trainer SV Absdorf: „A hard-earned point for us. We adhered to the tactical guidelines perfectly and fought until the end. Basically, we only allowed a few situations. I’m proud of my team.”
Amir Ebrahim, player-coach Lilienfeld: “We were overwhelmingly superior once morest an extremely defensive opponent. But it was very difficult for us to get through. We lacked effectiveness in the final third. Nevertheless, I am proud, we deserve to be autumn champions. We take this point with us.”
