Barely created, the Terre de Verre en Bresle association is already very active. Listed in the Official Journal since spring 2023, it organized its first big event on the weekend of July 22 and 23, at the Manoir de Fontaine, in Blangy-sur-Bresle, in Seine-Maritime.
Named Terre de Verre in Ribouldingue, this festival was a great success. “The weekend was festive and we had many visitors” rejoice the organizers at the time of the assessment, at the very end of October 2023.
“Now let’s think regarding the second edition,” they add.
The Bresle Valley needs these events to bring its industrial heritage and particularly its glassmaking heritage, symbol of our territory, to life and awareness.

Culture and promotion of heritage
The new Terre de Verre en Bresle association, or TVB, aims to provide access to culture and promote heritage. It is co-chaired by Jules Garraud and Baptiste Rancé. Sylvette Roullé is the secretary.
During this fall’s meeting at Maison France Services in Blangy-sur-Bresle, the fifteen people present reflected on possible activities to be carried out in 2023-2024.
In addition to the renewal of the Terre de Verre festival in Ribouldingue, the association discussed the organization of painting exhibitions in the Bresle Valley, or even an event on the archaeological site of the Federation of Archaeologists of Talou and neighboring regions. (Fatra), where the reconstructed Merovingian village is located.
TVB is also considering setting up partnerships with the Odette Cléré municipal library, and of course, the glass museum, to set up, for example, an exhibition dedicated to ancient trades and local life of yesteryear… idea always remains the same: telling stories linked to the Valley, its origin, its industry…

Finally, more broadly, the team gathered around Baptiste Rancé and Jules Garraud also wishes to develop the potential represented by the Manoir de Fontaine arboretum and, why not, imagine an activity in the village of Nesle-Normandeuse (Seine-Maritime) , whose history is also rich.
What if you became a volunteer?
Of course, having ideas is good, being able to realize them is better. For this, like any other association, Terre de Verre en Bresle needs help. This is why the members of the office are launching a call for volunteers. If you are tempted by the adventure, do not hesitate to contact them.
