The composition of Königsberg bedbugs includes meat, milk, eggs, vegetables and bread – everything that we eat every day. Taking the recipe for the famous German meatballs as an example, Klops monthly monitors how food prices change.
Let’s go shopping
At the beginning of November, we went to three supermarkets – “Victoria”, “Pyaterochka” and “Spar”, and looked at how much the products for making bedbugs cost there. We chose the cheapest options, excluding promotional items, and calculated the arithmetic average. Here’s what happened:
milk 2.5% fat 900 ml – 87.49 rub. loaf 350 g – 32.14 rub. onion – 52.74 rub./kg bunch of parsley 80 g – 60.3 rub. first category chicken egg – 99.93 rub./dozen minced beef 400 g – 225 rub. Spicy salted sprat 500 g – 84 rub. lemon – 13.25 rub. per piece drinking cream 10% – 75.3 rub. potatoes – 16.3 rubles/kg fresh beets – 17.3 rubles/kg sunflower oil – 122 rubles/l capers 100 g – 260 rubles.
Total: 1,145.75 rubles
Compare prices
The cost of a set of products of 13 items increased by 2.3% (from 1,119.48 rubles in October to 1,145.75 rubles in November). Most noticeable went up in price onions – a kilogram is sold for 52.74 rubles; in October it cost 35.16 rubles. (by 50%).
In addition, they added in price:
parsley — from 46.66 r to 60.3 r (to 29.23%), bar — from 26 to 32.15 r (to 23.6%), milk — from 76 to 87 .49 r. (up 15%), capers – from 230 r. to 260 r. (up 13%), minced meat from 205 r. to 225 r. (up 9.7%).

At 66% fell in price lemons: from 38.53 rub. up to 13.25 rub. a piece. Before this, they rose in price for three months in a row: in October they added 7.5%, September – 15.2%, August – 4%.
Seasonal vegetables are falling in price:
fresh beets – 22.3 rubles/kg to 17.3 rubles/kg (by 22.4%), potatoes – from 18 rubles/kg to 16.3 rubles/kg (by 9.4%).
Compared to last month eggs fell in price to 99.93 rubles. In October, a dozen of the first category cost an average of 115 rubles. But the price still remains high – back in September the product might be bought for 72.99 rubles.

Cooking bedbugs
Let’s calculate the cost of the dish, which consists of the price of the products and the quantity (weight) of each ingredient. For meatballs with garnish you will need:
200 ml of milk, half a loaf, an onion weighing 130 g, a bunch of parsley, an egg, minced beef (400 g), 2 small sprat, lemon, approximately 300 ml of sunflower oil for frying.
For the sauce, use 200 ml of cream, 100 g of capers and one yolk. Beef meatballs are served with potatoes and a salad of grated boiled beets.
Last month, klops with side dishes and additives cost 738.09 rubles. In November, they rose in price by 31.06 rubles, or 4.2%, and cost 769 rubles 15 kopecks.
