Do you know Mick Vukota? We are talking regarding a former player from the Canadiens (22 games in 1997-1998), the Lightning and the New York Islanders. That’s where he spent the majority of his 573 NHL games.
When he was in New York, he had a condo early in his career. And at some point, he found himself without a roommate.
At that time, Marc Bergevin landed with the Islanders. It was there that Vukota offered to move into his empty room, and Bergevin then accepted.
A beautiful friendship was created between the two men, but Bergevin still thought regarding leaving his friend’s condo. For what? Because, as Vukota told the Spittin’ Chiclets podcast, Bergevin didn’t get along well with his roommate’s blonde.
What you need to know is that the native of Western Canada had recently been with his girlfriend and he had invited her to stay with him because he was alone. He didn’t seem head over heels in love.
Bergevin told him that the two guys had a great relationship, but the girl had to leave. And what was supposed to happen happened.
The next day, coming back from practice, I told him book’s [à sa blonde] a flight. I never saw her once more. –Mick Vukota
Bergevin and his roommate got along well and even today, Vukota says he has an excellent relationship with Bergevin. He obviously didn’t feel forced to do anything.
They were clearly having fun together.
Bergevin was more of the type not to cling to just one woman. Still in the same podcast, Vukota says that Bergevin always brought home the most beautiful women in town.
Reminder: when we say the most beautiful girls in town, we must remember that they didn’t play in Buffalo either.

All that to say that at the end of the evening, Vukota was often in the living room watching the sports news. And every time the Quebecer had a visitor, Bergevin made sure not to forget his good friend.
Comment?
Vukota says that the girl in question always came out of Bergevin’s room, walked around the apartment before returning to the room for further action.
And the next morning, Bergy said this:
Did you enjoy the victory lap? – Bergevin to Vukota
Clearly, we knew that Bergevin liked to have fun as a player. He was notably recognized as quite a prankster when he was a player… unlike his last two years as GM of the Canadiens.
But here, we know it even more.
