While GeForce RTX 50 Series not planned anytime soon, NVIDIA is reportedly preparing GeForce RTX 40 Super to occupy the field until the next generation. And unlike Intel, whose Raptor Lake Resfresh has deteriorated energy efficiency, NVIDIA would keep TGPs similar to current Ada Lovelace graphics cards ; at least, for two of them.
According to the information from leaker Kopite7kimi, the GeForce RTX 4080 Super and RTX 4070 Ti Super will have consumption equivalent to the original graphics cards. Still according to the discloser, only the GeForce RTX 4070 Super would see its power increase – by 20 W.
Further improved energy efficiency?
Kopite7kimi’s predictions apply to the reference models. But you know, NVIDIA partners sometimes grant power : the most emblematic illustration is the GeForce RTX 4090, with several references which easily exceed 450 W.
In fact, the idea that NVIDIA officially keeps TGP content is consistent. The GeForce RTX 40 Series are the champions of energy efficiency ; their contained appetite is one of their main strength. At the entry level for example, DLSS 3 support aside, the GeForce RTX 4060 and RTX 4060 Ti do not offer huge gains compared to the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3060, but they manage to do a little better by consuming much less. At the heart of the range, the RTX 4070 Ti follows the RTX 3090 despite consumption reduced by around 25%.

Des GeForce RTX 40 Super en 2024
The future will tell us what happens, but don’t wait for the GeForce RTX 40 Series in 2023. It is much more likely that NVIDIA will launch them in the first half of 2024.
