JAÉN, 2 (EUROPA PRESS)

The University of Jaén (UJA) organizes the webinar ‘Social networks, family and society’ on November 9 and 13. Influence and role in the emotional well-being of adolescents and young people’, framed in the Digitas project.

In this forum, the topic of mental health and emotional well-being in young people will be analyzed, focusing on the influence of social networks, family and society in general, as reported this Thursday by the academic institution.

Thus, the objective is to be able to know the current situation of the mental health of young people and adolescents, point out the factors that can favor and harm their mental health and emotional well-being, providing information to adolescents, mothers and fathers, professionals and society in general.

In this way, it is also intended to cover “the knowledge deficit” in this area through dissemination of emotional literacy.

Registration to participate in this webinar is free and can be done through the digitasweb.es page, or directly through the online form.

UJA researcher Lourdes Espinosa will open the program on November 9 at 7:30 p.m. with her presentation ‘Family and Mental Health in adolescents’ to talk regarding the importance of youth mental health and its close relationship with the family context.

Next, the rapper Arkano will speak, in his presentation titled ‘Adolescents, young people and mental health. A social perspective’, will reflect on the need and importance that must be given to the mental health of young people

The next session will take place on November 13 at 8:00 p.m. with the clinical psychologist and doctor in Psychology Francisco Villar. In his presentation, titled ‘How screens devour our children’, he will address the negative impact that digitalization can have on the social, psychological and physical development of young people.

Digitas is a digital tool for transferring content and resources to address social anxiety disorder and other emotional problems in adolescents. Its managers are Lourdes Espinosa, Luis Joaquín García and José Antonio Muela, professors in the Department of Psychology at the UJA, along with Juan Pablo Molina, researcher and content creator.

This is a proof of concept project funded by the State Research Agency of the Ministry of Science and Innovation and by the European Union Next-GenerationEU/PRTR.
