A Cirion Technologiesa digital infrastructure and technology provider, today announced the expansion of its data center complex carrier-neutral in São Paulo (SAO1) with a new 3,600 m2 building that increases its total capacity by 50%. The building is capable of hosting workloads that require high density, such as AI, gaming and machine learning, between others. The company is backed by Stonepeak, an alternative investment firm specializing in real assets, with approximately US$57 billion in assets under management and a broad portfolio of investments in communications and digital infrastructure around the world.
The expansion of the SAO1 complex in Cotia, São Paulo, allows Cirion to continue supporting the demands of diverse hyperscalers, carriers and content providers – all of which require robust and scalable infrastructure. Thus continuing Cirion’s more than 30 years serving corporate clients in Brazil and Latin America in general.
Both buildings in the SAO1 complex share a 20MW power substation, with redundant high-voltage line inputs. The new building follows the policy carrier-neutral of the company, providing customers with direct access to more than 90 operators and the main public cloud companies operating in the Latin American market.
Furthermore, the SAO1 complex is certified by ISO standards, such as ISO 9001; ISO 20000-1; ISO 27001; ISO 27017; ISO 27018; ISO 27701; ISO 22301; ISO14001; ISO 45001 (BS OHSAS 18001); ISAE 3402; PCI-DSS 3.2.1; with Tier III Design Documents and Tier III Constructed Facility from Uptime Institute, and compliance with PCI-DSS, SOC 1, SOC 2 and SOC 3 from AICPA, in addition to SAP Outsourcing Operations Partner.
Cirion owns and operates three data center complexes in Brazil, strategically located in the cities of São Paulo (SAO1), Rio de Janeiro (RIO1) and Curitiba (CUR1). These facilities are located in safe and easily accessible regions, close to the main business areas and airports, thus allowing greater logistical and operational agility.
Cirion’s data centers enable companies to build and scale their operations in facilities that are aligned with Latin America’s sustainability goals, while also adhering to Cirion’s environmental, security and governance (ESG) principles, as well as its commitment with technological innovation. This expansion will allow the SAO1 complex to achieve Energy Use Effectiveness (PUE), with a minimum consumption of energy, water and natural resources, to reduce its environmental impact in general.
“The expansion of the São Paulo data center represents another step in our journey to increase the platform of interconnected, low-latency data centers and establish a thriving digital ecosystem in Latin America,” said Facundo Castro, CEO of Cirion Technologies. “This new facility in the São Paulo data center complex reflects Cirion’s continued commitment to investing in our customers and providing them with the most complete suite of data center solutions to support digital transformation across the region.”
