The supermarket chain I predict started selling through WhatsApp. This way, the company’s customers who live in Rio de Janeiro can talk to a virtual assistant called Nic to order your products and receive them at home.
To begin with, the new feature was implemented in partnership with Vtex it’s at Weni, a startup. In general, all interaction is done with various buttons and menus that appear during the session, even if it is conversational. Still, the user can make their shopping list and send it.
From there, the robot shows all product options available for purchase that relate to the names sent. For now, this new feature has been launched for the neighborhoods of Botafogo, Ilha do Governador, Recreio and Barra. However, all neighborhoods in Rio de Janeiro, Maricá and Niterói must have access to this functionality from November 1st onwards.
It is worth noting, however, that a restriction by WhatsApp itself means that it is not possible to sell alcoholic beverages. Furthermore, payment is also made outside the messenger, but this should change if the app’s API makes the feature available natively for large companies.
In any case, it is still possible to pay online with a credit card, Pix and Pix with interest-free installments. The customer can also choose to pay on delivery with Pix, credit/debit card or food voucher. Finally, the idea is that all stores in the Cencosud group (which controls Prezunic) are integrated into the Meta messenger.
Assistant Nic operates via contact 21-4004-3303.
