A working group for health care in Ausseerland met for the fourth time these days to work on the future of the Bad Aussee hospital location. Represented in the working group are leading employees of the LKH, Bad Aussee’s mayor Franz Frosch (ÖVP), the forum “Pro LKH in Bad Aussee” and those responsible for the Styrian Health Fund.
As is well known, the LKH Bad Aussee will be downgraded to a “health center” as soon as the new lead hospital for the Liezen district opens in 2028. In the last two years, the number of cases and the number of operations in the hospital have fallen significantly.
A visit to the Mariazell health center is planned this fall, which might be a possible model for Bad Aussee. It is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and offers primary care close to home at the site of a former LKH. All general medicine services, wound management, minor trauma surgery and surgical services, application of plasters and orthopedic devices, radiological services, ultrasound and a small blood laboratory are offered.
