Is the precision industry ready for additive manufacturing? In any case, there is a start, as is evident from several articles in this winter edition of Solutions Magazine. Remarkably, not directly because complexity is for free, but because it shortens supply chains, ASML recently admitted in a presentation.
Two years ago, Wilting presented the first products from its own AM facility at the Precision Fair. The supplier is one of the leaders when it comes to additive manufacturing. Until recently, CNC milling of the printed components was the biggest stumbling block to scaling up. Wilting can now post-process these parts in a 24/7 environment. Organizing predictability, the core competence of the supplier, now also applies to AM production, says director Geert Ketelaars in this edition of Solutions Magazine.
