Bone chips M3
Apple launched a notable line of processors, the M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max, which promise to be the pioneers in using the company’s 3 nanometer technology.
Along with a faster and more efficient CPU, this trio of chips also incorporates an updated GPU, with support for advanced technologies such as ray tracing, mesh shading and the innovative Dynamic Caching, which optimizes memory management during tasks.
Apple’s M3 chip series boasts an impressive unified memory capacity, highlighted by the M3 Max chip, which stands out with an impressive 92 billion transistor count, a GPU equipped with 40 cores and a CPU with 16 cores.
24-inch iMac with M3 chip
Moving on to the more robust device, the 24-inch iMac received a notable improvement with the new M3 chip, promising performance that doubles its predecessor equipped with the M1, according to Apple. In addition to the new processor, this updated version of the iMac has a 4.5K Retina display which displays more than 1 billion colors, support for Wi-Fi 6E and a 1080p webcam camera.
The iMac also offers a unified memory capacity of up to 24 GB and is available in seven vibrant colors: green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue and silver. Accompanying the iMac are accessories available in the same colors, although they still use Lightning connectors.
You can purchase the 24-inch iMac for US$1,299 (more than R$6,500 in direct conversion) with an eight-core CPU or US$ 1.499 (~R$ 7.500) with the 10-core chip. Pre-orders are available starting today, with delivery scheduled to begin on November 7th.
14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro with M3 Pro and M3 Max chips
Apple also showed off its pair of new MacBook Pro models, in traditional 14-inch and 16-inch screen sizes, powered by the M3 Pro and M3 Max chips.
Both laptops come equipped with Mini LED displays, a high-resolution 1080p camera, a high-quality six-speaker sound system, a 22-hour battery life, and support for an impressive 128GB of RAM. They are available in two color options: space black, with a new fingerprint-resistant coating, and silver.
The 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M3 Pro chip has a starting price of US$ 1.999 (~R$ 10.000)while the 16-inch model with the M3 Pro starts at US$ 2.499 (~R$ 12.600). These long-awaited laptops can now be ordered from today, with availability scheduled for November 7th.
14-inch MacBook Pro with M3 chip
In addition to the new MacBook Pro powered by the powerful M3 Pro and M3 Max chips, Apple has also prepared a more affordable 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by the entry-level M3 chip, with a starting value of US$ 1.599 (~R$ 8.070). This model replaces the old 13-inch MacBook Pro, which used Apple’s M2 chip launched the previous year, offering up to 60% more agile performance.
A notable change is the farewell to the Touch Bar, resulting in the return of physical keys across the board. However, it is worth highlighting some limitations of the basic model: it has a modest 8 GB of RAM and is only available in silver and space gray, with black reserved for the latest generation MacBook Pros. This device is now available for pre-order starting today, with the official launch scheduled for November 7th.
