The BYD Dolphin and Seal models have undergone the Austrailian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP). In this sense, the two cars achieved the maximum score in what is considered one of the most respected assessments of vehicle safety in Australia and New Zealand.

In general, the two vehicles underwent several physical tests for structural protection in collisions, as well as evaluations linked to the products’ ability to actively avoid collisions with other cars, pedestrians and cyclists. To do this, its cameras, sensors and radars were put to the test.

In the case of the BYD Dolphin, the model had good results in terms of protection for adult occupants throughout crash tests. Likewise, the car also offers adequate protection for the driver in cases of frontal displacement. For child occupants, the vehicle received the maximum rating in side and frontal impact tests.

The BYD Seal, in turn, had the highest number of points in terms of protection for drivers and children in the passenger seat in the side impact and oblique post test. The protection offered to passengers’ chests and legs in the frontal displacement test also received good marks. The same goes for safety for full-width rear passengers.

Another highlight was the BYD Yuan Plus, which obtained a five-star rating from Green NCAP. For those who don’t know, this is Europe’s greenhouse effect assessment program and according to the results, the car proved to have excellent energy efficiency following consumption tests under different temperatures.
