The Jules Verne high school in Étaples has redoubled its imagination to raise awareness regarding breast cancer screening. In particular, the students were able to enjoy a meal composed entirely of pink foods.

Before the holidays, Operation Pink October raised awareness among the public at this high school regarding breast cancer and its necessary early detection. “ It’s also a boy’s business », insisted the teachers. To indicate that the message was well received, the high school students brought a touch of pink with their clothes or accessories every Thursday. Tuesday October 17, they shared a meal including the majority of the ingredients were… pink!

A special menu

The teaching team led by Pascal Courtois, the principal, knows how to count on its chef to lead the actions it puts in place. Several times rewarded for the quality of his dishes, chef David Rose had concocted a special menu for the occasion.

As a starter, there was a millefeuille with red beets and pink radishes or a floating island with salmon. For the meal, poultry with cheddar, pink salmon with shallot sauce, penné rigaté with pumpkin sauce, red cabbage with apples and coral lentils in risotto. And there was the choice for dessert between a raspberry Bavarian and rose-flavoured fromage blanc. We hope that the operation will have borne fruit in the minds of the students.
