In this regard, Dr. Heba Kotb, a marital relations consultant, pointed out the error of the common belief that a man following the age of seventy lacks the ability to have an intimate relationship.
Qutb explained in previous television statements that men following the age of seventy can have intimate relations, but at a lower rate than in previous age stages.
The marital relations consultant confirmed that men between the ages of 50 and 70 can have sexual intercourse once or twice a week or every 10 days, provided that they do not have any chronic diseases, such as high blood pressure and diabetes.

She added that intimate relationships provide older men with many benefits on both the physical and psychological levels, the most notable of which are:
1- Intimacy plays a major role in protecting men from age-related prostate diseases, such as inflammation, enlargement, and cancer.
2- Intimate relationships help improve mental health in older people, because intercourse stimulates the brain to produce the hormone oxytocin, which contributes to a feeling of relaxation, improving sleep quality, and reducing stress and anxiety.

Dr. Nabil Amin, a consultant in andrology, agreed with her, pointing out that there are other benefits that intercourse provides to older people, including:
1- Intercourse contributes to weight loss, because the physical activity performed during intimate relations encourages the body to burn more calories, because it is equivalent to doing some exercise.
1- Intercourse reduces the risk of Alzheimer’s disease, because the hormone oxytocin that the brain secretes during intimate relations helps strengthen memory.
